DEIB Community of Practice
Problem of Practice
Equity Leaders & Change Makers need a way to lean on – and learn from – their colleague connections because DEIB work is mentally and systemically filled with challenges. When we lean on a trusted community of practice, our collective efforts can move forward the work across the region to meet the needs of all students and educators and bring awareness and solutions to the systemic/institutional/ ideological forms of oppression holding the problem in place.
Overview
MCREN’s DEIB Community of Practice is a space to connect with equity leaders like you across schools and districts. We’ll connect through to build a collaborative community of support that will provide members with the skills, collective problem solving, and strength to move their district towards more equitable outcomes.
Program includes:
- Monthly covenings (virtual and in-person rotation)
- Collaboration and consultation with The Equity Collaborative facilitators
The DEIB Community of Practice will consist of three in-person sessions. You can attend one or all of the following drop-in sessions:
-
Tuesday, December 17th from 8:30 – 12:30 p.m.
-
Tuesday, February 25th from 8:30 – 12:30 p.m.
-
Thursday, May 29th from 8:30 – 12:30 p.m.
Who is this for? DEIB Community of Practice is intended for licensed or administrators; district equity leaders and coordinators; restorative justice leaders; or equity change makers from any public school district or ESD in our region.
