Administrator Supports
MCREN believes in the power of building and supporting great leaders.
Our Instructional Leadership program provides ongoing support to school administrators throughout the school year.
MCREN’s Portico Principal Coaching Network supports school principals and assistant principals with one-on-one coaching and a network of peer support throughout the school year. Participants have access to an online library of professional development, tools, and resources.
In addition, MCREN hosts high quality professional learning and communities of practice for administrators such as Transformational Leadership and Jennifer Abrams’ Having Hard Conversations.

New Principal Collaborative
The Collaborative will prepare new principals to meet the constantly evolving challenges that school leaders face. Participants will receive the tools to implement practices of a strong leader; to build an inclusive, equity centered school culture; to mold a school where everyone wants to work; and to manage time so that student outcomes and wellbeing are always at the forefront.
Principal Mentor Training
MCREN’s Principal Mentor Training will develop a mentor’s expertise in supporting principals. The training is aligned to Oregon mentoring program standards and integrates research-based best practices with participants’ knowledge and experiences.
Mentoring & Induction Supports
MCREN strives to empower and enable educators to be their greatest. The first years of an educator’s career are the most critical, and first impressions count!
The Regional Mentor Program provides new educators with one-on-one, confidential peer mentoring with an emphasis on student-centered focus, developing culturally-inclusive practices, and supporting educator growth through professional development.
In addition, MCREN believes that even mentors need mentors! Our Mentor Collaborative supports mentors, coaches, and program designers with equity-based mentoring practices, professional development and support.

Design Lab with Lori Cohen
A series of workshops for people tasked with delivering professional learning experiences in school districts to increase confidence, skills, and effectiveness in delivering meaningful and impactful learning experiences.
Mentor Collab
Facilitated by Bianca Espinosa and Lori Cohen, this is a regional community of practice that supports mentors in the region to grow their mentoring skills and connect with each other to collaboratively address problems of practice.
Culture and Climate
More than half of MCREN districts have set goals to change practices, build relationships, shift mental models, and redistribute resources in their planning to foster equitable learning conditions.
MCREN provides resources that are aligned to your district’s climate and culture priorities. We partner with districts to investigate and implement strategies that work for your unique school communities.
We provide support for new SEL curriculum expectations and strategies to improve the effectiveness of the curriculum. MCREN currently hosts networking opportunities for district DEIB leaders. And our A3 Network affinity space provides BIPOC teachers, paraprofessionals, pre-service educators, and professors with coaching, community, and peer support.
