Leading Healthy Cross-Cultural Teams
Leading Healthy Cross-Cultural Teams is designed specifically for Pre K-12 educators in a leadership role where they are supporting a cross-cultural team or helping to develop cross-cultural collaboration at their site. Leaders need systematic ways to understand how culture and race shape all aspects of their work. Our goal is to build individual, interpersonal, and institutional solidarity skills and practices for leaders derived from their positionality and racial socialization. We will follow the framework and activities of the HCCT program so educators from the same site have a shared language and approach.
This series will also tend to educational leaders’ resilience through critical practices of well-being, self and co-regulation practices, as well as healthy cultural identity development. The aim is to tend to leaders’ capacity so they have the capacity to hold others and support burnout prevention. Additionally, this series will provide extended facilitation skills for managing cross-cultural stress and promoting effective dialogue, active listening, and collaboration across difference. This leadership cohort is intentionally designed to build upon the HCCT course for educators to promote cross-cultural solidarity and accountability both within and across educational contexts for formal and informal school leaders.
