A No-Cost Leadership Series & Community of Practice in 2026-27
The MCREN New School Leader Collaborative is open to any new principal or assistant principal in the Multnomah-Clackamas region. The Collaborative will prepare new principals to meet the constantly evolving challenges that school leaders face. Join us for this unique opportunity as we build a regional network of support for new principals!
Participants will receive the tools to implement practices of a strong leader; to build an inclusive, equity centered school culture; to mold a school where everyone wants to work; and to manage time so that student outcomes and wellbeing are always at the forefront.
The Collaborative consists of five in-person sessions from September 2026 through May 2027. In addition, participants have the option to participate in drop-in/virtual office hours for one hour, four times throughout the year to discuss problems of practice.
Topics include:
- Visionary Leadership & Strategic Planning

- Instructional Leadership & School Improvement
- Human Resources & Staff Support (contracts, plans of assistance, investigations)
- Operational and Systems Management
- Culture, Equity, and Community Engagement
