A No-Cost Leadership Series & Community of Practice in 2025-26
The MCREN New School Leader Collaborative is open to any new principal or assistant principal in the Multnomah-Clackamas region. The Collaborative will prepare new principals to meet the constantly evolving challenges that school leaders face. Join us for this unique opportunity as we build a regional network of support for new principals!
Participants will receive the tools to implement practices of a strong leader; to build an inclusive, equity centered school culture; to mold a school where everyone wants to work; and to manage time so that student outcomes and wellbeing are always at the forefront.
The Collaborative consists of five in-person sessions from September 2025 through May 2026. In addition, participants have the option to participate in drop-in/virtual office hours for one hour, four times throughout the year to discuss problems of practice.

The New School Leader Collaborative is facilitated by Mike Scott, former Superintendent of Hillsboro School District. Mike brings a depth and breadth of knowledge in education having served as Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Principal, Assistant Principal, Counselor and Teacher. As a certified executive coach he coaches school and district leaders.
